ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
On 3rd of August 2020, Center for Research and Dialogue has launched an event where women in Galkaio convened to discuss the role they could play in the on-going power sharing process. 60 women participated in the interactive meeting.
In that activity, was also participated by representatives from the Ministry of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation including Honorouble Ahmed Hassan Ali, minister of State, MOI; Galmudug State Member of Parliament and a member of the Technical committee, Mr. Khalid Hayir; Abdullahi Ibrahim Abdi, Regional and Local Governance Director, GalMudug Region; Abdullahi Haji Hassan, Executive Director CRD; Abdi Sheikhdon Negeeye, CRD; Bashir Fiidow, PM, FCA; Sahra, coordinator at Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
The event created a platform where women discussed their larger gender equity and equality issues which was deemed to promote women’s voices in decision-making. Women as an integral part of the community had to be engaged and directly supported during the district council formation process for better social reconciliation.
The sessions continued for a day- morning and afternoon. The first session started in the morning at 08:00 am and ended at 10:00 am for a break. At 10:30 am, the participants resumed their discussion until 12:30 pm where they went for lunch. At 01:00 Pm they come back and the sessions is restarted and ended on until 14:30 Pm.
